Aloha Seahorse parents and families! We want to start by saying THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! First, thank you to those of you who came out to support your children’s education at last month’s Keiki Karnival. It was a beautiful day and we had a pretty good turn out! Then, we were overwhelmed by your generosity during “Teacher Appreciation Week”. Your gifts were another reminder of how Blessed we are to have your children in our classroom. Not only do your children make our job most fun and enjoyable, but your support makes it easy as well. It is we who appreciate you! Our field trip to Kualoa Ranch was another success. It was a very warm day, but the children faired well in the heat and brought back what they learned to the classroom. They continued to talk about the animals they saw, readily pointing them out in pictures and mimicking how they behave. Thank you to Uncle Derek, Julia’s and Sarah’s dad who joined us on the field trip.
April was a busy month for us as the children continued to learn alphabets N, O, P and Q. This month we are continuing with letters R, S, T and U. The weather is starting to warm up, so if your child has an extra set of swimwear that can be left in the classroom, please bring it to class. Although water play is not a part of our lesson plans this month, we may make changes and include it in our activities as we see fit. Next month, water play will be included in our lesson plans. Here are some of the activities we have in store for the keiki this month: Focusing on the letter "R" *Identifying ranch animals *"Ring Around the Rosies" *Ribbon wands *Ring toss with hula hoops *Rainbow art *Running relays Focusing on the letter "S" *The "Same-Same Game" (memory) *"Silly Slippery Snake" *Square search *Simple "Simon Says" *Scavenger hunt *Search for things that begin with the letter "S" *Sorting *Sidewalk chalk Focusing on the letter "T" *The "Tooty Ta Ta" Dance *Tumble mats *Tic Tac Toe *Building tall towers with blocks *Tracing mazes *Tricycles *Tea and toast *Track *Tongs and pompoms *Tag!
